Gotei 13 Faction HQ

[ORGANIZATION:] Due to the civil war, that is about to break loose, the Gotei 13 is no more a single entity, at least not until one side wins the war. The original purpose of organization is to guard the cycle of transmigration by purifying souls and slaying hollows, but ever since hollow activity and amount of souls in need of cleansing got terrifyingly low, the shinigami haven't wasted their resource on the World of Living. Now, entangled in the internal conflict, the loyalties of the divisions of Gotei 13 have torn the organization in two; those loyal to the new captain-commander and those loyal to the Central 46. The "New Gotei" is led by the new captain-commander, and claims loyalty to his intention of separating the military from the Central 46 and reigning alone as the head of state. The "Old Gotei" follows the traditions and the laws of Central 46, intending to end the war as shortly as possible. Which side will you chose to align yourself with?

[DIVISION ONE:] The current captain-commander is also the new captain of Division 1, which willingly follows him, blindly following the will of their loved, now-deceased captain-commander. Division 1 is comprised of example soldiers; the members vary in expertise, age and specialization, but all of them are extremely loyal and well-trained. During war time, they are the eyes and the hands of their captain-commander, often assigned to guard the inner city or carry out important missions. When not in war, they are mostly teachers and idols for younger shinigami, but ultimately they follow the will of their leader, acting as captain-commander's private force. But what if the truth about circumstances of previous commander's death got released? Did he die of natural causes?

The chrysanthemum is the insignia of Division 1, which symbolizes the division's status as the traditional seat of captain-commander of Gotei 13.

[DIVISION TWO:] Ruled by perhaps one of the most powerful noble family, the Division 2 has traditionally been under control of a Shihoin, as long as any shinigami remembers. Closely tied with the Onmitsukido, the group of assassins loyal to the organization, the captain of Division 2 is always the commander-in-chief of Onmitsukido as well. Currently, the division follows their captain's decision to ally with the new captain-commander. The duties of Division 2 vary greatly, but essentially, the squad acts as the stealth force of Gotei 13; they deliver secret messages of high-priority, execute and punish criminals, suppress rebellions in the outskirts of Rukongai, or imprison and supervise them, as well as carry out stealth operations of the military - really, all dirty work of Gotei 13 is carried out by these cold-blooded assassins. These are generally offensive operations.

The pasque flower is the symbol of Division 2, signifying the squad's mindset to 'seek nothing', simply following orders they are given.

[DIVISION THREE:] The Division 3 has fallen into silence, following their captain's unexpected decision to align himself with the new captain-commander; that said, the members of squad are mostly Old Gotei sympathizers, torn between their political opinions and their loyalty to the new, forceful government. Though shocked, all of them are still willing to follow their captain without a question. Division 3 has been the intelligence force of Gotei 13 for centuries now; they are the spies of organization, trusted with the mission of gathering intelligence on both allies and enemies. It's their duty to notice and report any suspicious activity, but during war time, they play a major role in figuring out the plans of opposing factions, by any means necessary. Thus, their lives come often second to their work.

The marigold is the insignia of Division 3, symbolizing the grief, that becomes a part of all members of the squad, due to the nature of their duty.

[DIVISION FOUR:] The Division 4 has always been one of an undying loyalty for the traditions, and thus, the decision to not subdue under the command of new captain-commander was not unexpected. As one of the original divisions, the duty of Division 4 has not changed since the foundation of Gotei 13. Their ultimate purpose is support during war time, but they are often regarded as the ones responsible of maintenance and healing. They handle most of the manual labor in the Gotei 13, such tasks being; cleaning, moving supplies, providing foods to the shinigami, among many other things. However, all of the members are experts of kido, often attuned towards healing magic, but also respected as the medics of the army; medical skills, outside of kido, are required from any and all members.

The insignia of the Division 4 is bellflower, symbolizing the undying compassion, and their forgiving attitude towards disappointment and failures.

[DIVISION FIVE:] The Division 5 is unsure of where it stands in the civil war. Ruled by a newcomer, after the violent murder of their previous captain, his appointment occurred only months before the civil war sparked, thus leaving the squad without allies. They, however, remain optimistic and will follow their captain, whatever choice he will make, most having no opinion on the politics of Gotei 13. During war time, the squad is the one responsible of acting as the reserves for other squads, but the previous captains have all cherished the tradition of training their members into jack-of-all-trades; thus, all members of the Division 5 are very skilled in different areas of expertise, and are often promoted as seated officers of another division after they make the choice of their specialization.

The lily of the valley is the insignia of Division 5, symbolizing the loving atmosphere of squad, as well as their modesty and readiness for making sacrifices.

[DIVISION SIX:] The Division 6 is known by it's strict adherence to the rules; every member expected to act as an example for others, just like in Division 1, and those, who fail to do so, are punished by the captain of squad. It has been under control of a high-ranking noble house, Kuchiki family, for centuries, and continues to this day; the members are often noble as well, and are expected to understand the values of nobility, obedience and pride. The decision to ally with Old Gotei, seemed to be influenced by the insult made by new captain-commander, when the funeral of the previous one was disrupted by his attempt of coup d'etat, as well as a personal grudge, that the Kuchiki have always held against the Shihoin. The purpose of division is to uphold laws of Central 46, at it's simplest.

The insignia of Division 6 is camellia, symbolizing nobility, the most important value of the squad; all of it's members are known to be noble, regardless of their heritage.

[DIVISION SEVEN:] The Division 7 has always been one to sympathize with the values of courage, moral, loyalty and justice - all of which are required from the members of squad. The members of this division always fight for their own honor and loyalty for their captain; as the division, that has always acted as the moral compass of Gotei 13, the civil war touched them the most. Honest people, they see through the lies of new captain-commander, and having been loyal to the previous one, they immediately began to oppose the forceful attempt of government. The duty of this division is linked to many other divisions, which they share their purpose which; they are responsible of patrolling with Division 2, act as defense of Seireitei just like Division 8, and handle large-scale operations with Division 5.

The insignia of Division 7 is iris, symbolizing the ideals of the squad.

[DIVISION EIGHT:] Other divisions like to joke, that Division 8 is full of slackers; in fact, the statement isn't entirely untrue, because the members of squad have been known to be very easy-going and relaxed. On the other side of the coin, they are also very skilled combatants and tacticians, and even if they are comfortable with a lack of rules, they are extremely reliant on their captain. Their duty is to act as the main defense of Gotei 13, which has been the purpose of the division since the formation of organization; they are both capable of defending the entire city from attackers, and securing a certain point assigned to them. The Division 8 was the last squad to swear loyalty to the Central 46 and Old Gotei, but in a sense, it was something everyone expected.

The insignia of Division 8 is a bird of the paradise, symbolizing the belief among the members, that everything is earned; if you do your work well, you can to relax.

[DIVISION ELEVEN:] In the wake of recent events, the captain of Division 11 has retreated back to his squad, unwilling to participate in the war at all. Having gained his position through murder, the current Kenpachi is a brute and a disgusting pig, who is willing to abandon the other squads and see them destroyed, if that means he doesn't have to dirty his hands. Hated by most of his squad, he controls others with fear, as no one has yet to defeat him. The purpose of Division 11 is to act as the main offensive force of Gotei 13, and thus, the squad's alignment will change the game. All members of the squad are expected to specialize in melee combat, and strong warriors; if not, other members more than often seek out to chase weaklings away. They are without a doubt the most strongest division.

The insignia of Division 11 is yarrow, the warrior's flower; when marching to the battlefield, the all members of the squad carry yarrow with them.
